For a stationary wave, `t = 8 sin ((pix)/(20)) cos (50 pit)`. What is the distance between two successive antinode ?

A

15 cm

B

20 cm

C

25 cm

D

30 cm

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

`y = 8 sin ((pix)/(20)) cos (50 pit)`
`= 8 sin ((2pix)/(40)) cos (50 pit)`
comparing with the standard equation, we get
` (2pix)/(lambda) = (2pix)/(40)`
`therefore lambda = 40 cm`
`therefore` Distance between two successive antinodes ,
`= (lambda)/(2) = 20 cm`
