In a diode AM- detector, the output circuit consist of `R=1 k Omega` and `C=10 pF`. A carrier signal of `100 kHz` is to be detected. Is it good?

A

Yes

B

No

C

Information is not sufficient

D

None of the above

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

For demodulation `(1)/(f_(c))lt lt RC`
`(1)/(f_(c))=(1)/(100xx10^(3))=10^(-5)s`
`RC=10^(3)xx10xx10^(-12)s=10^(-8)s`
We see that `(1)/(f_(c))` here is not less than RC as required by the above condition. Hence, this is not good.
