If two cards are drawn simultaneously from the same set, then probability that atleast one of them will be the ace of hearts is

A

`(1)/(13)`

B

`(1)/(26)`

C

`(1)/(52)`

D

`(3)/(13)`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
B

Total number of cards = 52
Total number of ace of heart = 1
Since, two cards are drwan simultaneously, such that atleast one of them is ace of heart.
`therefore` Required probability
`=(.^(1)C_(1)xx .^(51)C_(1))/(.^(52)C_(2))=(1xx51xx2)/(52xx51) " " [because .^(n)C_(r )=(n!)/(r!(n-r)!)]`
`=(2)/(52)=(1)/(26)`
