A bullet is shot horizontally and its distance s cms at time `t` sec is given by `s=1200t-15t^(2)` then the distance covered with which the bullet is shot when it comes to the rest is

A

`1200 cm`

B

`24000 cm`

C

`40 cm`

D

`0`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

Given `s=1200t-15t^(2)`
:. `(ds)/(dt)=1200-30t`
When bullet comes ot the rest position, then
`(ds)/(dt)implies1200-30t=0`
`impliest=40`
`:.s=1200(40)-15(40)^(2)`
`=48000-15(1600)`
`=48000-24000=24000`cms
