Text Solution

The cartesian equation of the line passing through the points
` A ( x _ 1 , y _ 1, z _ 1 ) and B ( x _ 2, y _ 2, z _ 2 ) ` is
` ( x - x _ 1 ) /( x _ 2 - x _ 1 ) = ( y - y _ 1 ) /( y _ 2 - y _ 1 ) = ( z - z _ 1 ) /( z _ 2 - z _ 1 ) `
` therefore ` the cartesian equation of the line passing through the points ` A ( 3, 4 , - 7 ) and B ( 6, - 1, 1 ) ` is
` ( x - 3 ) /( 6 - 3) = ( y - 4 ) /( - 1 - 4 ) = ( z - ( - 7 )) /( 1 - ( - 7 )) `
i.e., ` ( x - 3 ) /( 3) = ( y - 4 ) /( - 5 ) = ( z + 7 ) /(8) `
