ENERGY BAND THEORY OF SOLIDS

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

An energy band is a quasi- continuous band of allowed energies , that are separated by an extremely small energy difference ( about ` 10^(-19)`eV), formed by splitting of each of the discrete energy levels of the atoms in a crystal due to the mutual interaction of the atoms.
