State Brewster's law.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Brewster's law : The tangent of the polarising angle is equal to the refractive index of the reflecting medium with respect to the surrounding.
If `i_(p)` is the polarising angle, tan `i_(p)=(n_(2))/(n_(1))`
where `n_(1)` is the absolute refractive index of the surrcoundingand `n_(2)` is that of the reflecting medium.
