What is the difference bactericidal and bacteriostatic antibiotics ?

Antibiotic are of two types .
(1) Bactericidal : They are antibiotics which kill the bacteria in the body .
Examples : Penicillin, aminoglycosides, ofloxacin, etc.
(2) Bacteriostatic: They are antibiotic which inhibit the growth of bacteria in the body .
Example : Erythromycin , Tertracycline, Chloramphenical , etc.
