(1)Kidney transplantation is carried out on patients with end-stage renal disease.(2)Kidney transplantation is classified into two type,viz.,desceased-donor or cadavric and livig-donor transplantation.This classification is based on the source of the donor organ.(3)Living-donor renal transplants are further classifeid as genetically related (living-related)or non-elated(living-unrelated)transplants.(4)In living-related trnsplant,the relative with biological reltionship donates the kidney.(5)In living-ynrelated type of transplant the donor is not biologicallly related to the pateint.
