`v = 3 xx 10^(4) m//s, r= 1.5 xx 10^(11)` m
Centripetal force = `(mv^(2))/r= ma`
Centripetal acceleration of the Earth.
` a= v^(2)/ r= ((3xx 10^(4) m//s)^(2))/(1.5 xx 10^(11)m) = (3xx 3)/1.5 xx 10^(-3) m//s^(2) = 6 xx 10^(-3) m//s^(2)`
It is directed towards the centre of the Sun.
