According to the station clocks, two babies are born at the same instant, one in Howrah and other in Delhi. (a) Who is elder in the frame of 2301 up Rajdhani Experess going from Howrah to Delhi? (b) Who is elder in the frame of 2302 Dn Rajdahni Express going from Delhi to Howrah .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The birth timings recorded by the station clocks is the proper time interval because it is the ground frame .That of the train is improper .
I.e. ` Delta T' = v Delta T `
Hence for (a) up train Delhi baby is elder (b) down train Howrah baby is elder .

Two babies are born in a moving train, one in the compartment adjacent to the engine and other in the compartment adjacent to the guard. According to the train frame , the babies are born at the same instant of time. Who is elder according to the ground frame?

A Physics teacher is explaining the difference between average speed and average velocity to her students. Where average velocity = ("displacement")/("time taken") , "average speed" = ("actual distance travelled")/("time taken") She emphasises that average speed is more relevant than average velocity, because displacement from one place to other is only theoretical, being the shortest distance between two places. Average speed is the real entity that matters, taking into account the actual time taken to travel the actual distance between the two stations. Read the above passage and answer the following question : (i) Do you agree with the statement of Physics teacher ? (ii) The shortest distance between Ambala to Delhi is 200 km . A train takes 4 hrs and covers a distance of 210 km in going from Ambala to Delhi via Karnal. Another train takes 5 hrs and covers 250 km distance in going from Ambala to Delhi via Saharanpur. What is the average speed of these two trains? What would be the average velocity of a train that takes 2.5 hrs to cover 200 km distance ? (iii) What values do you learn from this discussion ?

Study the following information carefully and answer the given questions: 6 persons are celebrating their birthdays in first 6 months of a year (January- June). Rajat celebrates in the month of March. Shreya celebrate before Saroj. Only 1 person celebrates between Rajat and Suresh, who do not celebrate immediate before or immediate after Rajesh. Rajesh celebrates immediately before Rekha. Saroj celebrates neither in June nor immediately after Suresh. Read the following information carefully and answer the questions given below. I is the granddaughter of Q. O is the son in law of T. R is the sisterin-law of T. Five trains namely Rajdhani express, Duranto express, Shatabdi express, Tejas express and Gareebrath express are running from Delhi to Dehradoon in different days of the week, starting from Monday to Friday. Two trains are running between Shatabdi and Duranto. Shatabdi is going to Dehradoon before Wednesday. Tejas express is going to Dehraddon immediate after Gareebrath. Rajdhani is not running on Friday. Then who among the following train are going to Dehradoon on Wednesday?

Direction: Study the information below and answer the following question. Six people A, B, C, D, E, and F born on either 17th or 28th of March, April, and May of the same year. No two people were born on the same date. A belongs to Delhi and was born in the month having 30 days. Neither B nor D belongs to Kolkata.
