Introduction and Factors Affecting Solubility

What is Solution?

A solution is a homogeneous mixture of at least one solutes in a solvent. Salt added to soup or water is the typical example of the solution. The property which helps salt molecules to dissolve is known as solubility. Subsequently, the term solubility can be characterized as a feature of a substance (solute) to dissolve in a particular solvent. A solute particle is any material or substance that can be either solid or fluid or gas dissolved in a solvent (liquid). On this basis, the factors influencing solubility change on the phase of the solute.
