Probability of getting a spade `= 13/52`
Probability of an ace `= 4/52`
and probability of getting a spade ace `= 1/52`
`therefore` Required probability `= 13/52 + 4/52 - 1/52 = 16/52 = 4/13`
Odds against his winning `= (1 - 4/13)/(4/13) = (9/13)/(4/13) = 9/4`
