Construst a circuit for the statements ` ( p ^^ q ^^ r) vv [( ~ p ) ^^ ( ~ q)]`

Text Solution

Let there be three be three switches `S_(1), S_(2) and S_(3) ` asspciated with three statements p,q and r respectively in the given statement such that :
p: The switch `S_(1)` is closed.
q : the switch `S_(2)` is closed.
r : The switch `S_(3)` is closed.
Then , the statement `p ^^ q ^^ r` represents a circuit in which switches, `S_(1), S_(2) and S_(3)` are connected in series and the statement ` (~ p) ^^ (~q)` repesents a circuit in which switches `S_(1)' and S_(2)'` are connected in series. Consequently, the statement ` ( p ^^ q ^^ r) vv [ ( ~p) ^^ (~ q) ]` will represent a circuit in which the two circuits given by ` p ^^ q ^^ r and [(~ p) ^^ (~q)]` are connected in parallel as show in Fig .11.
