The susceptibility of a magnetic materia...

The susceptibility of a magnetic material is `chi` at `127^(@)C`. At what temperature , its susceptibility will be reduced to half of its original value ?

A

`327^(@)C`

B

`427^(@)C`

C

`527^(@)C`

D

`627^(@)C`

The correct Answer is:
C

Applying Curie's law , we can write `chiprop(1)/(T)`
`therefore (chi_2)/(chi_1)=(T_1)/(T_2)` but it is given that `(chi_2)/(chi_1)=(1)/(2)` and `T_1=273+127=400K`
`therefore (1)/(2)=(400)/(T_2)`
`therefore T_2=800K=(800-273)=527^(@)C`.
