Let the annual rental be increased by Rs. X.
`:.x` subscribers will discontinue.
Let I be the annual income of the company.
`:. I=(3000+x)(500-x)`
`:. I'(x)=(3000+x)(-1)+(5000-x)xx1`
`=2000-2x`
`:. I''(x)=-2`
For maximu, income,
`I'(x)=0`
i.e., `2000-2x=0`
`:. x=1000.....`
Now, `I''(x=1000)=-2lt0`
`:.` Income I is maximu at x=1000
`:.` Annual income should be increased by Rs. 1000 for maximum annual income.
