State Kepler's II law of planetary motion (law of areas)

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(a) Kepler's first law ( Law of orbit) : Every planet revolves in an elliptical orbit round the sun, with the sun situated at one of the focii of the ellipse. This law is knonw as the law of orbit .
(b) Kepler's second law (Law of equal areas) : The radius vector drawn from the sun to any planet sweeps out eual areas in equal intervals of time. This law is known as the law of areas i.e., the areal velocity of the radius vector is constant.
