Air pollutant and its effect are as follows:
(i) Hydrogen sulphide: Headache, irritation of mucous membrane, unpleasant odour causing loss of appetite.
(ii) Carbon monoxide: Reaction with haemoglobin reduction of oxygen carrying capacity.
(iii) Tobacco smoke: Lung cancer, Pulmonary and coronary heart disease.
(iv) Nitrous oxide: Lethal to human beings and animals.
