`600 mL` of ozonised oxygen at `STP` were found to weigh one gram. What is the volume of ozone in the ozonised oxygen?

A

`200 mL`

B

`150 mL`

C

`100 mL`

D

`50 mL`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A

Let the volume of `O_(3) = x mL`
Volume of `O_(2)` present `= (600 - x) mL`
`22400 mL "of" O_(3)` and `O_(2)` at `STP` will weigh `48g` and `32 g` respectively.
The weight of `x mL "of" O_(3) = (x xx 48)/(22400) g`
The Weight of `(600 - x) mL "of" O_(2) = ((600 + x) xx 32)/(22400) = 1.0`
`:. x = 200 mL`
