Assertion: In the circuit shown in figur...

Assertion: In the circuit shown in figure with a dielectric slab is inserted in `C_2`, the potential difference across `C_2` will decrease.

Reason: By inserting the slab a current will flow in the circuit in clockwise direction.

A

If both Assertion and Reason are true and the Reason is correct explanation of the Assertion.

B

If both Assertion and Reason are true but Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion.

C

If Assertion is true, but the Reason is false.

D

If Assertion is false but the Reason is true.

The correct Answer is:
B

By inserting dielectric slab, value of `C_2` is increased `PD` across `C_2` will decrease. If `C_2` is increased, charge on capacitors will also increase. So, positive charge or current flows in clockwise direction.
