Compare the coagulation power of AlCl(3)...

Compare the coagulation power of `AlCl_(3)` with that of `NaCl` . Given that their coagulation values are `0.093` and `52` respectively?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As coagulation power is inversely proportional to coagulation value, the ratio of their coagulation power will be
`(Coagu lation power of AlCl_(3))/(Coagu lation power of NaCl)`
`=(Coagu lation value of NaCl)/(Coagu lation value of AlCl_(3))=(52)/(0.093)=559`
Thus, `AlCl_(3)` has 559 times greater coagulation power than `NaCl` .
