Compare the coagulating power of `HCl` with that of `KBr` . Given the coagulation values are `30.8` and `138` , respectively?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As coagulation power is inversely proportional to coagulation value, the ratio of their coagulation power will be
`(Coagu lation power of HCl)/(Coagu lation power of HCl)`
`=(Coagu lation value of KBr)/(Coagu lation value of HCl)=(138)/(30.8)=4.48`
Thus, `HCl` has 4.48 times greater coagulation power than `KBr` .
