Charge on the colloidal particles is due to the preferential adsorption of `Kl` adsorbs negative `I^(ɵ)` ions and hence is negatively charged. However, on shaking `AgI` with excess of `AgNO_(3)` solution, it will adsorb `Ag^(o+)` ions and hence becomes positively charged.
What will happen if equimolar solution of positively and negatively charged colloidal sols be mixed ?
What are positive and negative charges?how are these produced?
Out of MgCl_2 and AICI_3 which one is more effective in causing coagulation of negatively charged sol and why?
If two objects repel one another, you know both carry either positive charge or negative charge. How would you determine whether these charges are positive or negative ?
