If the height of a right circular cylinder is 14 cm and lateral surface area is 264 sq-cm, find the volume of the cylinder.

Let the radius of the base of the cylinder be r cm.
As per quenstion, `2 pi r xx 14 = 264` or, `2 xx (22)/(7)xxr xx 14 = 264` or, `r=(264)/(2xx22xx2)=3`
`:.` the volume of the cylinder` = (22)/(7)xx(3)^(2)xx14 c c = 22 xx 9 xx2 c c = 396 c c `
Hence the required volume ` = 396 c c`.
