Man A of mass 60 kg pushes the other man...

Man A of mass 60 kg pushes the other man B of mass 75 kg due to which man B starts moving with acceleration `3ms^(-2)`. Calculate the acceleration of man A at that instant.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Action and reaction force will be equal and opposite on man A and B.
Net force on man
`BF=m_(B)a_(B)=75 xx 3 = 225 N`
Hence, force on A will also be 225N but in left diraction.
Hence acceleration of A,
`a_(A)=(F)/(m_A)=(225)/(60)=15/4 ms^(-2)`.
