Two frame S(1) and S(2) are non-inertial...

Two frame `S_(1)` and `S_(2)` are non-inertial. Then frame `S_(2)` when observed from `S_(1)` is inertial.
A frame in motion is not necessarily a non-inertial frame

A

The relative acceleration of the frame may either be zero or `4ms^(-2)`

B

Their relative acceleration may have any value between `0 and 4 ms^(-2)`.

C

Both the frames may be stationary with respect to earth.

D

The frames may be moving with same acceleration in same direction.

The correct Answer is:
B, C, D

Acceleration of particle w.r.t frame `S_(1): vec(a)_(p)-vec(a)_(S_1)=2hat(n)`
Acceleration of particle w.r.t freme `S_(2): vec(a)_(p)-vec(a)_(S_2)=2hat(m)`
where `hat(m) and hat(n)` are unit vectors in any direction. Now relative accelerartion of frames:
`vec(a)_(S_2)-vec(a)_(S_1)=2(hat(n)-hat(m))`
Its magnitude can have any value between 0 to `4ms^(-2)` , depending upon the direction of `hat(m`) and `hat(n)`.

For ordinary terrestrial experimants, the observer is an inertial frame in the following cases is

A particle is observed from two frames S_(1) and S_(2) . The frame S_(2) moves with respect to S_(1) with an acceleration a. Let F_(1) and F_(2) be the pseudo forces on the particle when seen from S_(1) and S_(2) respectively. Which of the following are not possible ?

These questions consists of two statements each printed as Assertion and Reason. While answering these question you are required to choose any one of the following four responses Assertion Earth is an inertial frame. Reason A frame in motion is sometimes an inertial frame and sometimes a non-inertial.

Inertial Frame Of Reference

Statement I: A particle is found to be a rest when seen from a frame S_(1) and moving with a constant velocity when seen from another frame S_(2) . We can say both the frames are inertial. Statement II: All frames moving uniformly with respect to an inertial frame are themselves inertial.
