Show that the expression of the time period T of a simple pendulum of length l given by `T = 2pi sqrt((l)/(g))` is dimensionally correct

A

Right

B

Wrong

C

Information incomplete

D

None of these

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Give, `T=2pisqrt(l)/(g)`
Dimensionally `[T]=sqrt(([L])/([LT^(-2)]))=[T]`
As in the above equation, the dimensions of both side are same. Therefore, the given formula is dimensionally correct.
