A particle starts moving along a straight line path with velocity `10m//s`. After `5s` the distance of the particle from the starting point is `50m`. Which of the following statements about the nature of motion of the particle are correct?

A

The body may be speeding up with a constant positve acceleration.

B

The body may be moving with a constant velocity.

C

The body may have a constant negative acceleration.

D

The body may be first accelerated and then retarded.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B, C, D

`u=10m/s, t=5s, S=50m`
`V_(av)=50//5=10m//s`
The motion may be with constant velocity. The body may be first accelerated and then retarded. If the body has constant negative acceleration, then it is possible that for some acceleration that body is at a distance of 50 m from the starting point on the opposite side o the starting motion.
