Find the resistivity of a conductor whic...

Find the resistivity of a conductor which carries a current of density of `2.5 xx 10^(6) A m^(-2)` when an electric field of `15 Vm^(-1)` is applied across it.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given current density
`J = (I)/(A) = 2.5 xx 10^(6) AM^(-2)`
Applied electric field `E = 15 Vm^(-1)`
Resistivity of conductor,
`rho = (E )/(J) = (15)/(2.5 xx 10^(6))`
`:.rho = 6 xx 10^(-6) Omega m`.
