A line having a total resistance of ` 0.2 omega` delivers `10 KW at 220 V` to a small factory . Calculate the efficiency of transmission .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`I = ( 10,000)/(220) = ( 500)/(1)A`
Loss = `I^(2) r = ((500)/(11))^(2) xx 0.2 = 413 .22`
So efficiency is
`eta = ( 10,000)/( 10,000 + 413.22) xx 100 = 96%`
