A house is fitted with certain numbers of `100 W, 230 V` incandescent lamps. The power to the house is fed by a generator producing the power at `240 V`. The resistance of the wires from the generator to the house is `2 Omega`. Find the maximum number of lamps that can be illuminated so that the voltage across none of the lampsdrops below `230 V`.

Voltage drop across line is `10 V` , and current is `10//2 = 5 A`. Current drawn by one lamp is ` 100 //230 A`. So number of lamps is ` 5 xx 230// 100 = 11.5`. Hence, maximum number of lamps is `11`.
