Both reaction (iii) and (iv) proceed by anti-addition.

So the reactant (D) is cis [with two different groups (Et) and (Me)] and the mechanism of addition of `Br_(2)` or `Br_(2)//H_(2)O`m (HOBr, i.e., addition of `Br^(oplus)` and `overset(Theta) H`) is anti, so the products (E) and (F) would be racemic.
Since the mechanism of addition is anti, so the reactions (iii) and (iv) are stereospecific. But two products are formed in equal amount `(.^(oplus) and^(Theta)`, so both reactions are non-regioselective.
Addition takes place by the addition of `Br^(oplus)` in both the reactions to form intermediate bromonium ion
