The distance moved by a particle in simple harmonic motion in one time period is

A

`A/2`

B

A

C

2A

D

4A

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

Now, in simple harmonic motion (SHM) total distance travelled is 4A.

This is because the particle covers A in `T/4` time
period i.e. , when it moves from A to B, So in complete T time it covers 4 times the amplitude distance i.e., 4A.
