Porous rock through which groundwater ca...

Porous rock through which groundwater can move is called an aquifer. The volume V of water that, in time T. moves through a cross section of area A of the aquifer is given by `(V)/(t)=(KAH)/(L)`, Where H is the vertical height of the aquifer over the horizontal distance L. This relation is called Darcy's law. The quantity K is the hydraulic conductivity of the aquifer. What are the SI units of K?

The velue of any given physical quantity may very over a wide rande, therefor, different units of same phusical quantity are required for example the length of a pen can be easily measured in cm, the height of a tree can be measured in metres, the distanc
The given expression is `(v)/(t)=(KAH)/(L)` We can write `K=(VL)/(AHt)` the unit of L&H is same, hence the unit of K should be same as the unit of term `(V)/(At)` we have `(V)/(At)rarr(m^8)/(m^2sec)rarr(m)/(s)` Hence the unit of K is `m/s`
