In cold regions, in winter, the atmospheric temperature falls below `0^@C`.
2. Due to which, the temperature of water starts decreasing below `4^@C`, it expands and its volume increases.
3. Hence, ice forms in these piples and in the rocks, where water gests accumulated in rainy season.
4. This ice does not flow rather it gets accumulated at large volume, this causes expansion in the pipes which cause them break and even the rocks gets cracked, because of the same reason.
