(b)The Hope's Apparatus is a long hallow metallic cylinder with a cylindrical trough in the middle.
( c) The cylinder is provided with two holes one near the top and the other near the bottom.
(d) Two thermometers `T_1` and `T_2` are fitted in these holes to record the temperature.
( e) The trough is filled with the freezing mixture of ice and salt.
