What is the gravitational acceleration of a spaceship at a distance equal to two earth's radius from the centre of the earth?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
`2.45m//s^(2)`

It is known that ` g=(GM/R^(2))=9.8m//s^(2)`
when distance from centre of earth `=2 R`,
`g'=(GM)/((2R)^(2))=(1)/(4)(GM)/(R^(2))=1/4 xx9.8=2.45M//s^(2)`
