A ray of light falling normally on a plane mirror retraces its path on reflection.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For a ray incident normally on a mirror, the ray falls along the normal to mirror. Therefore, angle of incidence, `i=0^(0)`. As angle of reflection `(r )=` angle of incidence =`0^(0)`, therefore, reflected ray goes along the normal. Hence, the ray retraces its path.
