The `SI` unit of current is called an ampere (A) Current flowing through a conductor is said to be `1` ampere if `1` coulomb of charge flows through it in `1` second, i.e.,
`1 "ampere" (A) = (1 "coulomb" ( C))/(1 "second" (s)), i.e., 1 A = (I C)/(1 s) = 1 C s^-1`.
