Judge the equivalent resistance when the...

Judge the equivalent resistance when the following are connected in parallel.
(a) `1 Omega and 10^6 Omega`
(b) `1 Omega and 10^8 Omega and 10^6 Omega`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(a) Approximately `1 Omega` (but less than `1 Omega`). This is due to the reason that in parallel combination of resistors, the equivalent resistance is lesser than the least resistance (in this case, `1 Omega`).
(b) Approximately `1 Omega` (but less than `1 Omega`). Same reason as in (a).
