A circuit consists of `1 Omega` wire in series with a parallel arrangement of `6 Omega and 3 Omega` wires. Calculate total resistance of the circuit.

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
`3 Omega`

Resistance of parallel combination of `6 Omega and 3 Omega = (6 xx 3)/(6 + 3) Omega = 2 Omega`
Since `2 Omega and 1 Omega` are in series, resultant resistance `= 2 Omega + 1 Omega = 3 Omega`.
