A 35 mm wide slide with 24 mm`xx` 36 mm picture is projected ona screen placed 12 cm from the slide. The image of the slide picture on the screen measures `1.0 m xx 1.5m`. What is the linear magnification of the arrangement ?

` = 24xx36xx10^(-6)m^2`
Area fo imatge ` = 1.0mxx1.5m =1.5m^2`
:. Area magnificatuion = `(1.5m^2)/(24xx36xx10^(-6))`
= 1736
Linear magnification ` = sqrt(1736) = 41.77`
