Given that `T` stands for time and `l` stands for the length of simple pendulum . If `g` is the acceleration due to gravity , then which of the following statements about the relation `T^(2) = ( l// g)` is correct?

Text Solution

Let us write the dimensions of various quantites on the two
sides of the given relation :
`L.H.S =t = [T]`
` R.H.S = 2pi sqrt(I//g) = sqrt((L)/(LT^(-2))) (therefore 2pi"has no dimensions")`
` = sqrtT^2 = [T]`
As L.H.S. = R.H.S dimensionally, therefore the given relation is correct.
