Find the dimensios of `a//b` in the relation `P = ax +bt^2,` where P is pressure, x is distance and t is time.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As ax = p,
`a = (P)/(x) = (ML^(-1)T^(-2))/(L) = [ML^(-2)T^(-2)]`
Again, as `bt^2 = P,`
`b =(P)/(t^2) = (ML^(-1)T^(-2))/(T^2) = [ML^(-1)T^(-4)]`
`(a)/(b) = (ML^(-2)T^(-2))/(ML^(-1)T^(-4)) = [M^0L^(-1)T^2]`
