Here mass of shell , ` m = 0.02` kg , mass of gun , `M = 100 kg` , muzzle speed of shell `V = 80 ms^(-1)`
recoil speed of gun , `upsilon = ?`
According to the principle of conservation of linear momentum , `m V + M upsilon = 0 `
or `upsilon = (m V)/(M) = (-0.02 xx 80)/(100) = 0.016 ms^(-1)` .
