An elevatore weighinig 500kg is to be lifted up at a constant velocity of `0*4m//s`. What should be the minimum horse power of the motor to be used ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here, `m=500kg, v=0*4m//s, P=? `
`P=Fv=(mg+xxv=500xx9.8xx0,4=1960watt`
If we assume that there is no loss against friction etc. in the motor ,then minimum horse power of motor. `P=(1960)/(746)h.p=2*62h.p`
