(i) A person sits near the edge of a circular platform revolving with a uniform angualr speed. What will be the change in the motion of the platform ?
(ii) What if the person stars moving from the edge towards the centre of the platform ?

Text Solution

(i) As `L = I omega =` constant, and `I` increases, therefore, `omega` will decrease.
(ii) As the person starts moving from the edge towards the centre of platform, `I` goes on decreasing. Hence `omega` goes on increasing.
