AgNO(3)(aq.) was added to an aqeous KCl ...

`AgNO_(3)(aq.)` was added to an aqeous `KCl` solution gradually and the conductivity of the solution was measured. The plot of conductance `(Lambda)` versus the volume of `AgNO_(3)` is :

A

`(P)`

B

`(Q)`

C

`(R)`

D

`(S)`

The correct Answer is:
D

`AgNO_(3) + KCl_((aq.)) rarr AgCl_((s)) + KNO_(3(aq.))`
Initially there is `aq. KCl` solution now as solution of `AgNO_(3)` is added, `AgCl_(s)` is formed. Hence conductivity of solution is almost compensted (or slightly increase) by the formation of `KNO_(3)`. After and point conductivity increases more rapidly because addition of excess `AgNO_(3)` solution.
