Gravitational force acts on all objects in properties to their masses. Why then, a heavy object does not fall faster than a light object?

Acceleration = force/mass. If the force is due to gravity, then force = mass xx acceleration due to gravity. So acceleration due to gravity, which is independent of mass of the body.
