For a satellite, escape speed is `11 km s^(-1)`. If the satellite is launched at an angle of `60^(@)` with the vertical, what will be the escape speed?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`11 km//s`, It is so because the escape speed,
`upsilon_(e) = sqrt(2GM//R)`. It means escape speed depends upon mass of the Earth, radius of the Earth which are constant quantities and is independent of angle of launching.
